Young Parents Project
The Young Parents Project offers advice and information to all teenage parents and pregnant teenagers over 16 years old in Stockport. For those who wish to continue their education or return to Further Education, additional help and support is available; assistance is given in completing college application forms, attending interviews and locating suitable childcare. The Young Parents Project coordinator will then help young parents to complete Care to Learn application forms (Care to Learn is the national scheme which funds childcare for young learners) and offer on-going support to young parents whilst they attend college and continue their education.
The Young Parents Project offices are situated to the side of Moat House School and have a separate entrance and exit for any visitors so as not to disturb the work going on in school. There are toys and facilities to keep babies and young children occupied whilst application forms are completed. All Moat House leavers, as well as other teenage mothers and fathers in Stockport, are able to visit the Young Parents Project for support and advice.
